This small site is here to show what remains visible of the Roman remains in Eboracum, Roman York. Whilst much of the ancient fortress and associated civilian settlement that grew up around it is buried under the modern city some small glimpses remain. This site is here to serve as a guide.
In the three plans below the Roman fort is overlaid on the current street plan. The numbers in red show locations in the city where the remains are visible. They relate to the numbers in the index bar where photographs and accompanying text about what can be seen is documented.
Top plan north is at the top, the next two plans north is top left corner and are approximately 45 degrees from the vertical.
